- Approving credit proposals, if it is within their Credit Discretionary Limit (CDL). If beyond CDL, Credit Approver is to evaluate the credit proposal and provide recommendation.
- Reviewing and approving ratings (inclusive rating overrides & override reasons) which are not subject to CDL.
- Checking compliance with Credit Acceptance Guidelines, risk based pricing, limit caps and appropriate CDL (including credit exceptions which result in higher specific CDL).
- Ensure that limits, collateral and terms and conditions in CAS are revised to reflect the approved terms.
- Reviewing appropriateness of Industry Code and Country of Risk.
- Attend credit committee (UOBT CC and EXCO) meetings especially cases evaluated by him / her.
- Discuss and / or advise BU on credit proposal / transaction in order to improve efficiency and shorten processing time.
- Visit customers with BU (when possible) to enhance understanding of client’s business.
- Attending monthly meetings with BU, Credit Review and Special Asset Management to discuss weak and vulnerable loans.
